Yadu-Srestha was born in 1961 to an Australian father and a catholic Indian mother. At the age of 10 his mother started dropping him at the supermarket to shop for a family of 10 a training that set him up for a lifetime of bhoga and flower buying in Iskcon.

As a young man he was short listed to join a catholic religious order but eventually went to Melbourne University where he received an Honors degree in science majoring in mathematical statistics. At University he met the world famous chef Kurma at the Vedic vegetarian club and was very impressed, After working for one year as a university tutor he joined the Australian Bureau of Statistics where he was trained in management and reached the position of Senior Research Officer.

Yadu was initiated in 1986 and served as Temple commander in Melbourne between 1987 and 1995. He then served as Vice President of Melbourne between 1995 and 2003. On the request of his Guru he moved to Perth in 2003 where he has served as co-president since 2003. Yadu is more of a foot soldier in ISKCON rather than a leader who has over the years done the necessary.
